Dr. Jennifer Hodas joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) as a Commercialization Manager in April 2014. She is responsible for the identification, protection, and management of the Laboratory’s growing Electricity Infrastructure, Buildings, and Fuel Cells portfolios. She is the Commercialization Manager for the Control of Complex Systems Initiative (CCSI), the Future Power Grid Initiative (FPGI), and the Signatures Discovery Initiative (SDI).

Prior to joining PNNL, Dr. Hodas was working at the Office of Technology Transfer & Corporate Partnerships (OTTCP) at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) for four years, where she was the Assistant Director. She evaluated campus invention disclosures, managed patent prosecution, handled intellectual property relationships with industrial sponsors, processes material transfer agreements and negotiated option and license agreements for technologies arising from campus and the Caltech-managed Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Her areas of responsibility included chemical engineering, materials science, organic chemistry, electrical engineering, and applied physics. She handled the negotiations and ongoing relationship management for Caltech’s five major strategic industrial partnerships.

Dr. Hodas was a postdoctoral scholar at Caltech and received her B.S. from Yale University as a double major in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry and Psychology in 2004, a Ph.D. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biophysics from Caltech in 2009, and is a registered U.S. Patent Agent. She is also a member of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) and Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM).
