Landon Sego is a Statistical Scientist and joined PNNL in 2006. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he developed statistical methods for health care surveillance and the monitoring of rare events. He also holds an M.S. in Statistics from the University of Wisconsin—Madison and a B.S. in Statistical Science from Brigham Young University. Most recently, Dr. Sego led the Signature Quality Metrics project for the Signature Discovery Initiative in developing techniques for holistically assessing the quality of signature systems. He has worked (or is working) in a variety technical areas, including large-scale statistical computing, response and recovery from chemical or biological attacks, chemical and biological forensics, environmental sampling design, detection of illicit nuclear materials, assessments of ground water contamination, energy efficient high performance computing, and data analytics for monitoring the safety of commercial aircraft.
